Our Philanthropy

The Gamma Beta Chapter has supported the Rape Recovery Center since the Spring of 2014. 

The mission of the Rape Recovery Center is to empower those victimized by sexual violence through advocacy, crisis intervention, and therapy and to educate the community about the cause, impact, and prevention of sexual violence. Their philosophy is that every person victimized by sexual violence should be treated with dignity and respect and should be empowered to work towards recovery. They have been serving the Salt Lake City area since 1974. Funding comes from local donors as well as state and federal programs. 

Our work with them goes beyond simple fundraising. We have stepped up to help change the statistics and help to provide solutions geared towards men because the overwhelming majority of perpetrators are men. We sponsor several community outreach events a semester including our Sexual Assault Prevention Forums. These forums aim to educate the local community on what sexual assault is and what the average citizen can do to prevent it. Different forums have different focuses ranging from legislation to consent to self-defense.
